Effective Date of ANSI/APSP/ICC-16 2017 Delayed

U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission moved the effective date of ANSI/APSP/ICC-16 2017 (Drain Cover Standard) from November 24, 2020, to May 24, 2021, to provide drain cover manufacturers additional time while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted manufacturers and test labs. Additional details about this delay can be found on the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance's website.

This standard is a critical provision in the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act.  Take a closer look at the updates included in the 2017 version of this standard in a feature article recently published in NESPA's The Edge Magazine.  In the article, Steve Barnes, Chairman of PHTA's Technical Committee, provides insights into key updates and what they mean for the industry.
